Microsoft has released an out-of-band cumulative updates for that latest stable versions of Windows 10, because the company desired to quickly address an insect hitting PDF documents.

More specifically, the new Windows 10 cumulative update is KB5004760, which is pushed to devices running Windows 10 version 2004, 20H2, and 21H1.

Quite simply, the three most recent stable versions of Windows 10 are becoming this cumulative update, and obviously, given it's an out-of-band release, users are recommended to install it as soon as you possibly can.

Based on the official changelog provided by Microsoft, this cumulative update resolves a glitch which makes it impossible to spread out PDF documents on Windows 10 devices.

"Addresses an issue that might prevent you from opening PDFs using Internet Explorer 11 or apps which use the 64-bit form of the WebBrowser control. Additionally, a PDF might render as only a gray background while using the Adobe Acrobat plug-in," Microsoft explains.

There aren't any new known issues in this cumulative update, besides the ones already acknowledged in the last releases for that aforementioned Windows 10 versions. One of them concerns the Microsoft Japanese IME, which the company says may not obtain the Furigana characters, while the second is associated with Microsoft Edge Legacy, the original Windows 10 browser which has recently been ditched.

"Devices with Windows installations made from custom offline media or custom ISO image might have Microsoft Edge Legacy removed by this update, but not automatically substituted with the new Microsoft Edge. This issue is only encountered when custom offline media or ISO images are created by slipstreaming this update in to the image without having first installed the standalone servicing stack update (SSU) released March 29, 2021 or later," Microsoft says.
