Microsoft has confirmed something in Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809), and shockingly, the website says a fix would only ship in 2019.

Determining bug, mapped drives may can not reconnect after starting and logging into Windows, and Microsoft says the disorder exists on Windows 10 version 1809, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server version 1809.

The best way to determine your own home bug is impacting your alarm too is to check File Explorer, as being red X appears across the mapped network drives, this company says.

Furthermore, whenever the issue exists over a device, your mapped network drives are listed as unavailable at the time you run the "net use" command from Command Prompt.

And then the last symptom is often observed in the notification area, as there's a notification that claims Windows "could not reconnect all network drives."

While a fix is not actually available yet, Microsoft says a workaround exists and instructs users to follow this tech support team document available here.

"You could work around this issue by running scripts to automatically reconnect mapped network drive when you log on ipad. To do this, create two script files, after which you can use one of a workarounds, as appropriate," this agency explains.

All steps to construct the necessary scripts that will help work on the bug are included about the linked page.

As far the fix is concerned, Microsoft says that "provide updates throughout the 2019 timeframe," it could take a spell until a patch is shipped. Yet another Patch Tuesday appears in December, so Microsoft probably needs much more month to undertake the issue.

However, there's obviously no ensure the fix would land in January either, so that you better explore the workaround mentioned above to unravel the error by itself.
